Despite isn't central, the position of the hotel is not that bad: you can get to Van Gogh Museum in less than 10 minutes on foot and in the Red Light District in about 25 minutes.
The room we had was under the road level, with little windows directly on the street: the traffic noise didn't let us to sleep properly. Moreover, the furniture and cleanness are not adequate to the price: the floor (moquette) was really dirty, with some big spots. Remarks for prices: credit card +4% fee, city tax +5%.

Family with children overall good option
The staff , they were cute and offered us a snack and drinks upon arrival. We even got a bottle of water waiting in our room. The location was really nice, just a short walk to nearby museums and attractions....

Good location, near the tram station and supermarket.
The bed is small, old and uncomfortable. Room needs to be refurnished. It's over-priced.

Nothing!! Terrible!!!
Firstly, I don't reccommend this hotel at all. When me and my parents arrived, there were a lot of young noisy men in the reception since the reception is also a bar!! Secondly, after the check in, we tried to go to our rooms in the second floor when we noticed the lift was broken. So, we asked to the staff, who was really rude, and he said that someone had broken it and me and my parents, two 60-year-old person, had to go by the stairs!!! Immediately, I asked him my money back and left this horrible hotel. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL!!! DO NOT GO THERE, IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!!!

Staying at Huygens was a lovely experience. The modern decor caught my eye right away. I appreciated the cozy atmosphere. The bed offered really good comfort. I slept like a baby every night. Having a Nespresso machine in the room was good-perfect for that morning caffeine fix. The location was spot on, just a short walk to the Van Gogh Museum. The breakfast spread had a ton of options. I enjoyed the fresh pastries and a solid selection of hot food. The long staircase made it a bit of a workout getting to my room. I did notice the noise from the trams below at night, which could be disturbing to light sleepers. A double-glazing solution would really help mitigate that. During breakfast, I sometimes had to wait for dishes to be replenished. A great spot but could use a few tweaks to make it even better.
